It represents three strong values: human, environmental preservation, and attachment to the territory. The Park Label promotes products manufactured on the Park Territory, in handicraft or industrial farms using mostly local raw materials. The Ballons des Vosges Natural Regional Park Label stamps products, services or crafts that contribute to the sustainable development of its territory. Therefore, consumers are guaranteed products made locally with raw materials from the Park’s towns, and according to reliable and innovating craftsmanship respectful of the environment. It is awarded to companies who pledge, by convention, to respect the Label and the Ballons des Vosges Natural Regional Park Charter. In particular, the “Hospitality…” Label is awarded to service providers who endeavour to share their natural and cultural heritage knowledge of the Park. They favour personalized welcomes and promote local productions. Their commitment also shows in their effort to reduce their trade’s ecological impact on the environment, for example by limiting their energy consumption and by encouraging biodiversity. Why did the Parks create a certification label?Jointly committed to the local economy, environment, and well-being of men and women, the Regional Natural Parks are dedicated to enhancing the natural and cultural resources of each territory. Within this sustainable development perspective, the 53 Parks have created ‘Valeurs Parc naturel régional’, a state-registered label supported locally by the Parks and nationally by the Fédération des Parcs naturels régionaux de France. What does the certification label bring to businesses and consumers? The label promotes the activities and products of Regional Natural Parks while fostering sustainable economic development across their territories. It is awarded to companies and organisations that share the Park’s following three core values:Attachment to the territory: the certified companies and organisations are located in the territory, and the certified services take place in the Park. They contribute to the local development of the territory and to the resulting economic spin-offs. Moreover, they offer and promote products and/or services that enhance the territory’s flagship features.Preserving the environment: the label highlights activities that are respectful of nature and of professionals who contribute to safeguarding their environment. The human touch: the label promotes companies and organisations that are attentive to the well-being of their employees as well as that of local dwellers and visitors. True team players, they share their love for the environment across the territory.Find the label-certified companies and organisations in the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural ParkAgricultureMedicinal and Aromatic Plants furnitureMeat ProducersDrink ProducersFruits and vegetablesCraft and IndustryThe Wood IndustryNatural and mineral spring watersThe Granite IndustryTourism, Accommodation, LeisureHotels and restaurantsFurnished tourist accommodation and guesthousesNature campsitesMountain guidesMuseums and places of interest
