The “Remarkable Garden” Label the “Remarkable Garden” Label was established in May 2003, in accordance with proposals from the Parks and Gardens National Council – a Ministry of Culture and Communication Institution. This label rewards private or public gardens with outstanding design, plant species and maintenance – protected or not under monument or site classification. This national label is awarded for a total of 5 years, on request from regional commissions under the umbrella of the Directions Régionales des Affaires Culturelles (DRAC – Regional Cultural Affairs Office).
