This comes in good part from its flourishing associative activities: theatre classes, choral singing, music tuition, as well as cultural meeting points, professional artists in residency and many festivals. In a dozen Park valleys, cultural centres, theatres and heritage sites stage shows, concerts, exhibitions and events – including 11 cinemas, two travelling cinemas and venues dedicated to plastic arts such as the Wattwiller Arts Centre or the Alspach Abbey. In the Sub-Vosgian Land, the “Théâtre du Pilier” is both a professional theatre company and performance venue. At the heart of the Park, two labelled sites welcome artists and cultural programmes on a national scale: the “Théâtre du Peuple Maurice Pottecher” in Bussang and the “Dominicains de Haute-Alsace” in Guebwiller, remarkable venue dedicated to music. Among the 40 known festivals, do not miss: “Fantastic’art” in Gérardmer in January, the “Munster Jazz Festival” and the International Sculpture Festival “Camille Claudel” at La Bresse in springtime, or again, during the summer season, the Baroque Festival “Musique et Mémoire” in the “Mille Etangs”… plenty of other events and cultural players are worth discovering, so enjoy the shows!
