The Ballons des Vosges Park counts twenty or so ski resorts equipped with ski-lifts, and more than 500 marked slopes for cross-country skiing. Enjoy the snow in the Vosges Mountains: with alpine ski, Nordic skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snowshoe skiing, or again cross-country skiing… Winter Outings Must Be PreparedMountains can be dangerous. Remember that except for northern marked trails, markings for summer activities are not a guarantee of security for your walks. Call on nature professionals who will guide you along classic itineraries far from large wild fauna sanctuaries in the Vosgian forests. They will teach you how to read animal tracks in total security, as long as you remain silent. Respecting markings helps prevent fauna from fleeing otherwise favourable territories. Please ensure your dog is on a leash. It is often difficult to follow markings in winter because of the fog. Beware of “snow surprises” (holes, rocks) and of ice on steep slopes. Remain on marked tracks. In order to facilitate access to resorts, some valleys provide shuttle services. Don’t hesitate to use them! Find out More Snow ClockIn winter, snowfall is indicated in regional newspapers: L’Alsace, Le Pays de Franche-Comté, l’Est Républicain, La Liberté de l’Est and the Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace.
